Barony of Birka Village Ashland, KY

We are a Barony of travelers from many lands consisting of warriors and artisans. Our goal is to be a place of learning, fun, and creativity, which is inclusive of all who wish to experience the Middle Ages. The Barony of Birka Village focuses on the early to late Scandinavian Culture, roughly 709 C.E. to 1250 C.E. We have adopted the concept of a market / trading post to incorporate various personas who could have historically had contact through trade routes. Marshal Activities include: rattan, steel, fencing, foam weapons, archery and forward weapons. We also highly encourage the arts. (2019)

Castle Dauntless – Telford, TN

The focus of Castle Dauntless will be Medieval Era grand events and Medieval Historical recreation based on the Medieval tournament and chivalric armored displays. Combat will include Rattan Waster Combat, Rebated Steel Combat, and Armored Cut and Thrust styled combat. As such, time periods starting from Roman era through the Late Medieval Period, culminating at the end of the 16th Century will be included in this group. Castle Dauntlesss’ goal is to allow for not only training in various armored combat forms, but to allow for the display of such in chivalric tournaments, melee, and war scenario combat events. The Free Companies of Ravenscar represents Hospitaller and mercenary band. Our branch focuses on the recreation of medieval culture, combat and hospitality. Our words are “Hospitium et Conflictato” we also adhere to the words “We take no sides, unless there’s bribes. The contract is all” (2009)

Free Company of Marius – London, KY

The Free Company of Marius is founded as a Militaristic group of mercenaries. Our history is that of a mercenary house born of the need to protect our merchant convoys.  We accept warriors from any culture and time period, with a background that matches in the best way possible.  The purpose of the Free Company of Marius is to mold and grow fighters. Our motto is “Cave Monstros quae vocēs”-Beware the Monsters you Summon.

Based on the Middle Ages, and open to all time periods and cultures, we are a motley group of Warriors, Artisans, Cooks, Archers, Carpenters, Blacksmiths, and Entertainers from all over the world.

We strive to act with honor, integrity and respect both in character and in our interactions with others.

We, the unwanted and villainized by the true evil in the lands, have come together to travel where we are needed to protect, defend and fight for right in a land of wrong. (2020)

The Purpose of Raven’s Watch is to provide a place where like minded people in pursuit of fun and education as well as an outlet to train learn and experience life in the middle ages, particularly involving the Nordic or Viking Styles. We work with mostly a focus of being a Norse village with crafts and trade and a fighting / raiding lifestyle. (2022)

Wolves of Ravera

Tennessee

The Wolves of Ravera are a mercenary guild located in Ravera, a small fief of mountains, rivers, and lakes located in the far reach of the kingdom. Living and training in their Keep of Kaer Raveire, the Wolves who once took contracts on monsters who ravaged the land now take contracts to swing their swords at men during times of War and Political unrest. The school of the wolf teaches honor, chivalry, and morality primary of which is upholding all binding contracts. Each man is for hire individually and Wolf is dangerous on his own, but even more so devastating as part of a pack. (2022)

Priory of St. Lazarus

The Order of St. Lazarus evolved from a leper hospital that had existed in Jerusalem prior to the First Crusade. After the Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem was established, it became part of the Hospitaller network of hospitals, but by 1142 the Order of St. Lazarus broke away, and by 1147 it was known as the Leper Brothers of Jerusalem. Black Moon Free Company

Rapid City, SD

We are based on the late 1100AD-1600 AD with a focus on Warrior culture and tournament fighting of era. Our goal is to recreate the atmosphere of the medieval tournament, chivalry, knightly virtues, and martial prowess. The BMFC, comes together as a group of nobles, warriors, and friends to both organize and sponsor chivalrous tournaments of combat at arms, in using Rattan and Steel weapons of the time period. We dedicate ourselves to invest in the perpetual consulting, planning, organizing, promoting, and coordinating financial and logistical support for securing travel, lodging and venues for historic tournament events; and we seek to educate and inspire others to do the same. Members of the BMFC who do not actively compete in tournaments support the organizing and coordination and communication of hosting chivalrous tournaments of combat at arms, as well as venturing into endeavors of food, drink, textile, art, music, dance, culture, and recounting events of historical significance between 1100AD-1600AD Europe.
